It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, husband and grandfather, George Winston Bobbett at the Glace Bay Hospital, Saturday, Nov. Mary’s Anglican Church, was employed with the Devco coal mining industry for 30 years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with all his friends. Winston was born in Glace Bay, the son of the late George and Ethel (Heron) Bobbett, He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Esther (Courtney) Bobbett; children, Karen (Greg) Mac Issac, Verona (Tom) Ogley, Sandra (Byron) Kaiser, all of Glace Bay. Margaret moved to BC in the early 1970s, living in Chilliwack and Ladner.

His grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Liam, Cameron, Kristin and Kindra. She lived on the west coast but maintained strong ties with her Cape Breton home.

Winston is also survived by his brother, Ronald (Valery); sister-in-law, Helen, Red Deer, Alta. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harold and John; sister, Elaine Campbell; brother-in-law, Danny and sister-in-law, Ann. It was one of her final wishes to be interred in the family plot in St.
